For the third straight year, the NCHS Eagles will open against the Pana Panthers Friday at Pana starting at 7:00. Under Coach Jason Fulton in his second year as head coach, the Eagles return 19 lettermen from last year's 7-3 season which included a 6-1 Apollo record. Pana, on the other hand, suffered through their second straight 2-7 season. However, the Panthers will return 29 lettermen to build around new coach Al Stupek.

The Eagles have some positions to fill as graduation took its toll with 9 all Apollo players missing. However, Coach Jason Fulton is confident that he has some top notch replacements to fill the void led by the senior class.

Seniors expected to see much action include QB Ty May, WR Justin Pittman, WR Jesse Trout, WR Scot Mammoser, TE Brad Short, WR Craig Emmerich, RB Jared Wagner, RB Jacob Bierman, RB Clay Bickers, OL Skyler Lingafelter, LB Kyle Bailey, LB Austin Hunsaker, Center Seth Woods, OL Dylan Flowers, OL Dustin Laugel, OL Joe Fehrenbacher, DL Marcus O'Dell, OL Jordan Rauch, OL Lucas Pitcher, OL Dusty Lindeman, OL John Lidy, OL Garrett Jewel, TE Zack Goss, WR Justin Swingler, and WR Connor Niebrugge. All toll, the Eagles have 25 seniors to build on. Added to this total will be 20 juniors led by letter winners, TE Kelby McCoy, RB Alex Frohning and RB Jake Pilman.

So, despite the change, Jason Fulton is optimistic that his young Eagles will come around and produce another productive year of Eagle football.
