Mrs. Pauline G. French, 83, of Newton, Illinois passed away at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at the Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL.


Mrs. Pauline G. French, 83, of Newton, Illinois passed away at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at the Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL.

Funeral services celebrating Pauline's life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 1, 2009 at the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL with Rev. Mario Mayer officiating.  Burial will be in the Brick Cemetery in rural Newton, IL.  Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, July 31, 2009 at the funeral home.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospital.

Pauline was born on June 4, 1926 in Newton, IL the daughter of John and Zella (Birt) Beverlin.  She married Gene French on February 8, 1947 in Newton and he preceded her in death on October 22, 1993. Pauline was a bookkeeper for Worcester Hardware in Newton for many years.  She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Newton.

Pauline is survived by two children, John R. French and Jeanne (Mike) Weber both of Newton; three grandchildren, Jackie (Greg) Powell of Columbus, OH, Michael Weber of San Francisco, CA and Justin (Jenny) Weber of South Beloit; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Weber, Ava Powell and Ryan Weber; sister, Barbara (Edward) Littlejohn of Robinson and sister-in-law, Jo Beverlin of Newton.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers Gene, Harry and Glenn Beverlin and 3 sisters Marie Worthey, Beulah Fuson and Hazel Beverlin and 2 grandsons Michael Ross Weber, Jr and Cheney Scott Weber.
