Donald E. 'Don' Andrews, 74, of Newton, Illinois passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital, Effingham, Illinois.



Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Scott Avenue Christian Church with Pastor Mark Wilkinson officiating. Burial will be in the Trexler Cemetery, rural Newton. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 27, 2011, at the church. In loving memory of Don, memorials may be made to the Jasper County Antique Tractor and Machinery Club. Arrangements are under the care of the Crain Funeral Home, Newton.

Don was born October 2, 1936 in Jasper County, Illinois the son of Foster and Garnet (Dart) Andrews. On August 1, 1955, he married Susie Marshall in Newton, Illinois; she survives. Don worked for eight years at McClane's Standard Station in Newton. After forty-four years of service, Don retired from the City of Newton Street Department. His  memberships include the Scott Avenue Christian Church, Newton Lions Club, Jasper County Antique Tractor and Machinery Club and the Oblong Antique Tractor and Machinery Club.

He will be loved and remembered by his wife, Susie Andrews of Newton; son, Mike (Shelly) Andrews of Newton; daughter-in-law, Vaneta Andrews of Newton; three grandchildren, Billy (Carrie) Andrews of Watson, Deanna Shafer of Newton and Logan Andrews of Newton; brothers, Larry (Pat) Andrews of Willow Hill and Sanford (Jackie) Andrews of Yale; sisters, Dianna (Ernie) Duran of Palatka, Florida and Linda (Forest) Newkirk of Newton and sister-in-law, Judy Andrews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, son Timothy Andrews, brother Richard Andrews, and sister, Janet Andrews.
