Ronald Eugene “Ronnie” Brooks, 71, of Boonville, Missouri, formally of Newton, Illinois passed away Tuesday morning, April 11, 2017 at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri.


A Memorial Service will be held between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m., April 29, 2017 at the KC Hall in Newton, IL. The family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association or to the Boonville Fraternal Order of Eagles #1022.


Mr. Brooks was born September 18, 1945, in Jacksonville, Illinois, son of Royal and Katherine Hammond Brooks. On December 3, 1999, in Las Vegas, Nevada, he married Barbara Ann Stubblefield who survives of the home. Mr. Brooks was a graduate of Newton High School, Newton, Illinois, and a graduate of Missouri University of Science and Technology, Rolla Missouri with a BSEE in Civil Engineering. He worked as an engineer for Brown-Root Engineering and Construction in Houston, Texas for 43 years before he retired. He was a member and Trustee of the Boonville Fraternal Order of Eagles #1022 in Boonville, Missouri. Ron loved fishing, woodworking, shopping for antiques and traveling the world.


Ron is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Brooks of the home; a son, Billy Ray Todd, Boonville, Missouri; three daughters, Dawn (Robert “Skip”) Smith, Sedalia, Missouri, Tammy (partner Melissa Kelpe) Rounsavall, Columbia, Missouri, Dena (Bill) Welch, Houston, Texas; two brothers, John C. (Debbie) Brooks, Newton, David P. (Patti) Brooks, Newton; sister, Linda Marie Klebe, Muscatine, Iowa; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
