Earl E. Worthey, 90, of Granite City, IL, born January 18, 1927, in Bogota, IL, died Sunday, April 30, 2017, in Mascoutah, IL.
A funeral service with military honors will be held at 9:00 a.m., on Monday, May 8, 2017, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO, with Rev. Clint Wisdom officiating. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children. Online condolences may be given at www.irwinchapel.com
Mr. Worthey is an Army veteran. Worked for Illinois Power as a linemen foreman for 40 years before retiring in 1988. He was a member of the American Legion, Amvets, Masonic Lodge 835, and a Shriner.
Mr. Worthey is survived by his son, Robert (Susan) Worthey of Birmingham, AL; daughter, Becky Worthey of Mt. Vernon; step-daughter, Cyndi Huff of Fairview Heights; step-son, Jerry Carey of Mt. Vernon; brother, Floyd (Judy) Worthey of Milwaukee, WI; grandchildren, Tyson Leek, Derek Worthey, Rachel Worthey, and Grant Huff; and great-grandchild, Audrey Land.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Ida (Gibson) Worthey; first wife, Martha (Houser) Gill; second wife, Patricia (McFarland) Kisner; and sister, Lola Beal.
