Newton Care Center will celebrate National Nursing Home Week May 13th through May 20th. The theme "Spirit of Caring" brings a whole week worth of special theme days created by each department that will focus on Newton Care Center's motto, "Residents First, Employees Always."
Saturday will be spent honoring the Mothers with a 10 a.m. Mother's Day Social.
Monday's theme is Route 66 with a Flag Raising Ceremony done by the local American Legion, shopping cart parade at 2 p.m. and the the day will end with local entertainment, a car show, and free hot dogs and lemonade by the gazebo open to the community.
Tuesday is "All American Sleepover" with balloon decorating, Root beer floats and the movie "Grease" along with traditional sleepover games and facials.
Wednesday is "Spirit of Music Day" with pantyhose bowling, a fish fry, and Lip Sync Contest.
Thursday is American Pie Day" with relay races, pie eating contest and apple pie and ice cream.
Friday is Employee Appreciation Day with Corn Hole Competitions and a game of wiffel ball.
The week will finish off participating in the community wide garage sales.
