At 10:12 p.m., May 11, 2017, in Jasper County at County Road 2125E and County Road 350N a red, 2007, GMC truck, driver, Brian L. Mason, 58, of Olney, with passenger James L. Wesner, 58, of Olney, were traveling southbound on County Road 2125E just north of County Road 350N. A deer ran in front of the vehicle, Mason swerved to avoid hitting the deer and ran off the roadway to the left side of the roadway and struck a culvert.


This caused the left wheel to come off. They came to rest at the intersection of County Road 2125E and County Road 350N.


Both the driver and the passenger suffered injuries and were transported to Richland Memorial Hospital for treatment.


Mason was charged with Improper Lane Usage, Failure to Wear Seatbelt.


All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
