Kennedy Parr was crowned Miss Jasper County Fair Queen on Monday, June 19th at the Jasper County Fairgrounds. The 2016 Miss Jasper County Fair Queen Keirsten Brewer crowned Queen Kennedy after the announcement. Winning Miss Congeniality was Paige Klingler and First Runner Up was Elly Eaton.
The six contestants included: Amy Sandschafer, Sara Miller, Kennedy Parr, Paige Klingler, Mackenzie St. Claire, and Elly Eaton. The Future Miss Contestants included: Piper Ghast, Brooklyn Cleaver, Lola Radke, Emery Wolf, Mabry Wolf, Ava Benefiel, Kamyla Zumbahlen, Joslynn Marshall, Olivia Ann Bower, Janelle Hinterscher, Hailey Mulvey, and Irie Fields.
The Sock Hop at The Soda Shoppe Fair Queen Pageant began with the Future Miss Jasper County participants being brought to the stage by Wad It Up Transportation. The Queen Contestants along with the Reigning Miss Jasper County Fair Queen Keirsten Brewer then entered the stage.
The contestants performed a dance routine allowing them the opportunity to introduce themselves. The judges were introduced and the Future Miss Contestants showed off their favorite summer wear, which was followed by the Physical Fitness Competition for the Miss Contestants.
The Future Miss Contestants then showed off their party dresses, told what they wanted to be when they grow up to the audience and Miss Richland County Madi Hahn and received a sash and trophy. The Miss Contestants performed their speeches in the Communication Skills Competition while dressed in their business suits.
While the Miss Contestants changed into their evening gowns, the visiting queens took the stage to tell about their upcoming fairs, congratulate the contestants, and wish them the best of luck.
The six contestants then competed in the Evening Gown Competition which included two questions they had to answer. As Keirsten gave her farewell speech, the judges calculated the results. All of the contestants returned to the stage for the presentation of roses from IGA and the announcement of the awards.
