Bassmaster Magazine has ranked the top 100 Best Bass Lakes of 2017.

Newton Lake, Illinois (1,775 acres in Central Region) placed No. 7 in the Top 25 Best Bass Lakes for Western, Southern, Northeastern and Central regions.

As Mayor Mark Bolander commented in regards to this announcement, "Another reason to come to Newton/Jasper County."
