The Illinois State Police District 12 reported an injury crash on I70 eastbound, mile post 103 (2 miles west of Montrose) at 4:01 p.m. August 3.

Involved in the accident was Unit 1, red 2016 Freightliner truck-tractor semi-trailer, driver Christopher Todd Rogers, 51, Indianapolis, IN; Unit 2, white 2007 Freightliner truck-tractor semi-trailer, driver, Daniel Castillo, 55, Edcouch, TX; Unit 3, white 2000 International truck, driver, Dean L. McClellan, 61, Sigel, IL; Unit 4, silver 2018 Volvo truck-tractor semi-trailer, driver, Michael Dwane Hickman, 50, Houston, TX.

Passenger in Unit 3, George W. Sehi, 61, Sigel, IL.

The preliminary information released is that Unit 2, Unit 3 and Unit 4 were stopped in traffic eastbound on Interstate 70 at mile post 103 due to the construction zone. Unit 1 was approaching the stopped traffic and didn't stop before running into the back of Unit 2. Unit 2 was pushed forward into Unit 3. Unit 3 was pushed into the back of Unit 4.

The driver and passenger of Unit 3 were entrapped in the vehicle. The driver of Unit 1, the driver and passenger of Unit 3 and the driver of Unit 4 were transported to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital by Effingham County Ambulance.

Unit 1 driver, Rogers, was charged with Failure to Reduce Speed/Accident and Operating Vehicle while wearing a headset. Unit 3 driver was charged with Illegal Transportation of Alcohol.

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
