The Section 12 Middle School Livestock Evaluation contest was held at Western Illinois University Livestock Facility Friday, April 6.

Livestock Evaluation consists of the evaluation of  beef, goats, sheep and swine, keep/cull classes on breeding females and yield grading cattle for their cutability. These middle school students practice daily during study hall.

Special thanks went to Krystina Short, student teacher for her coaching abilities; Don and Nancy Locke for classes of goats; Ryan Spangler for sheep classes; and Dan and Nancy Williams for Swine classes. “Alumni make the difference in the performance of students,” said FFA Advisor Doug Falk.
