BARTONVILLE-Canton McDonald’s 14u baseball team lost a close game to open the Limestone Tournament Wednesday. Canton played Team 360 and lost 2-1 in 7 innings.

BARTONVILLE-Canton McDonald’s 14u baseball team lost a close game to open the Limestone Tournament Wednesday. Canton played Team 360 and lost 2-1 in 7 innings. Jake Miller was the starting pitcher for the Little Giants. He pitched 3 solid innings allowing 1 run on 3 hits while striking out 2 batters, and walking 3 while facing a total of 15 batters.  

 

William Eskridge came in relief for 3 innings facing 13 batters, giving up 1 run on 4 hits. Trenton Hobby pitched in the seventh inning walked the first batter he faced and then got 3 quick outs.

 

At the plate the team was led by Trae Cox’s single, double and walk. Connor Willcoxen provided 2 singles. Miller, Nick Oldfield, and Eli Perkins each provided a hit. Liam Murphy had a sacrifice ground ball RBI to the right side to score Cox for Canton’s only run.  

 

Coach Oldfield said “Team 360 is a solid team  Our team played error free baseball and brought good effort, intensity and focus to tonight’s game. We just came up short at the plate. I am proud of our team for their never give up attitude.”
