MACOMB — Mayor Mike Inman has called a special session of the city council Monday. It will immediately precede the regularly scheduled city council committee of the whole meeting.
The special session was called to vote on a resolution for Macomb's participation in a state and federal grant program for buses and facility infrastructure. The city is the designated public transit operator for the county, administering McDonough County Public Transportation in cooperation with the Western Illinois Regional Council.
During the committee of the whole meeting, aldermen will discuss liquor issues. One will deal with a proposed city ordinance to create a package liquor license for the new CVS Pharmacy near the downtown. The other issue involves an ordinance amendment creating a microbrewery classification.
The council meetings will begin at 5:15 p.m. on the second floor of Macomb City Hall.
