Donald Eugene Cox, 73, of Casey, IL passed away at 9:25 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Markwell Funeral Home with Tim Laymon officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery, south of Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 4–7 p.m. on Friday evening at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL. Donald was born April 23, 1945 in Bridgeport, IL, the son of Loy Cox and Mary Florence Umfleet Cox. On April 11, 1974 he married Marilyn Schafer in Casey, IL. Don was a 1963 graduate of Bridgeport High School. He was retired from Hickox Trucking and hauled grain for Huisinga’s. Don had previously worked for Trailmobile and Ettlebrick Shoe Factory. He enjoyed camping and the outdoors; he was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Donald is survived by his wife, Marilyn Cox of Casey; sons, Jason Cox of Casey and Robert (Debbie) Cox of Casey; daughters, Carolyn (Bill) Salyers of Newton, Betty (Carl Jr.) Glidewell of Jewett, and Melissa Ragsdale of Casey; sister, Faye Shafer of Portland, TN; sixteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Tony Cox and Robert Pinkstaff Jr. and sister, Phyllis Pinkstaff.
