The Canton High boys golf team placed 18th out of 22 teams at Saturday’s Coyote Creek Invitational held at Coyote Creek Golf Club.

The Canton High boys golf team placed 18th out of 22 teams at Saturday’s Coyote Creek Invitational held at Coyote Creek Golf Club.


The Little Giants finished with a team score of 366.


Cade Bugos paced CHS with an 88 on the par 72 layout. Jackson Gray was next 90, followed by Aden Emery (91), Garrett Brant (97) and Trey Passmore (100). The four low scores counted toward the team total.


In the team competition, Peoria Notre Dame and Kaneland finished with 299, followed by York at 301.


Other Mid-Illini schools taking part in the competition included Dunlap 320 (ninth), Morton 334 (11th), Metamora 338 (12th), East Peoria 361 (15th), Washington 364 (16th) and Limestone 396 (21st).


Individually, Will Marshall of Kaneland captured medalist honors with a 65. Tyler Isenhart of Geneva was next with a 68, followed by Mike Wales of Peoria Notre Dame (69).


Canton will begin Mid-Illini Conference play Tuesday against Morton  at Wee-Ma-Tuk Country Club starting at 3:30 p.m.
