The Lewistown Lady Indians went unbeaten in four matches to capture the championship of the 2018 Fulton County Volleyball Tournament held Saturday at the CHS South Gym and the Ingersoll Middle School.

North Fulton (2-2) finished second, followed by Canton (2-2), South Fulton (1-3) and Farmington (1-3).


Starting its day in Ingersoll Middle School, Lewistown defeated Farmington 25-12, 25-5.


Sydney Shaeffer had 11 kills and three blocks, while Hannah Burdess added nine kills for Lewistown.


Carmyn Baldwin finished with 21 set assists, while Kate Van Pelt and Macy Mikulich recorded 10 and nine service points respectively. Van Pelt also had two service aces. Carli Heffren finished with three digs.


The Lady Indians next defeated South Fulton 25-15, 25-11.


Burdess had 12 kills, three blocks and nine service points, while Shaeffer added eight kills.


Baldwin chipped in 23 set assists, eight digs and seven service points. Kadee Bainter finished with seven digs and Cortney Hopkins three service aces.


Moving to the CHS South Gym, Lewistown defeated Canton 25-20, 25-12.


Shaeffer and Burdess had 13 and 12 kills respectively, along with four digs each, while Van Pelt had six digs. Burdess also tallied six service points that included four service aces.


Kirsten Shawgo had nine service points and two blocks, while Baldwin had 14 set assists. Hopkins added in three set assists.


In what turned out to be the championship match, Lewistown defeated North Fulton 25-16, 25-20.


Shaeffer finished with 10 kills, eight digs and 10 service points, while Burdess added nine kills, six digs and two set assists.


Baldwin had 19 set assists, while Van Pelt finished with nine service points that included two service aces. Shawgo notched three blocks.


North Fulton started its day with a 26-24, 25-16 victory over South Fulton.


Brooke Utsinger had six kills, one block and three service aces for North Fulton. Rachel Slater added four kills and 13 digs, while Sloan Miller also had four kills.


Carlee Quick had 17 digs and Addyson Williams 11 set assists for the Lady Wildcats.


North Fulton dropped its next match, losing to Farmington 25-20, 25-23.


Makayla Gilpin had four kills and Quick 24 digs for North Fulton.


Miller had seven set assists, Utsinger two blocks and Williams six service aces for the Lady Wildcats.


North Fulton would defeat Canton 25-21, 23-25, 15-8.


Utsinger had seven kills and three blocks, while Quick and Slater had 16 digs each. Williams had eight set assists and Hayley Olsen four service aces for the Lady Wildcats.


Against Lewistown, Utsinger had four kills, Quick eight digs and Miller five set assists.


Host Canton began its day rallying for a 22-25, 25-20, 15-7 victory over Farmington.


Cassidy Locke had six blocks and six service aces for Canton. Gillian DeFrain finished with eight set assists, while Lorna Eaton added seven digs and Cassidy Williams three blocks.


Against Lewistown, Locke recorded five kills and one service ace, Williams three blocks, DeFrain six set assists and Eaton five digs.


Against North Fulton, Locke tallied nine kills and four blocks. DeFrain chalked up 11 set assists and Eaton seven digs.


The Lady Giants wrapped up play by rallying for a 25-27, 25-21, 15-10 win over South Fulton.


Lauren Oldfield tallied seven kills, while Locke added six kills and two blocks. Williams also had two blocks, while DeFrain finished with eight set assists.


Eaton had 13 digs, while Madison Strantz added 11 digs for the Lady Giants. DeFrain and Oldfield each had one service ace.


For South Fulton, in its match against North Fulton, Hollidae Koster had four kills and 12 digs.


Against Lewistown, Daryssa Stoneking recorded four kills, while Koster added nine digs and three service aces. Ashley Strode chipped in two set assists.


South Fulton recorded its lone win of the day, rallying to beat Farmington 20-25, 25-14, 15-9.


Stoneking and Koster had three kills each. Koster also had two blocks and 17 digs, while Stoneking also recorded three service aces.


Claire Stevens finished with three service aces and three set assists.


Against Canton, Makenna Lefebvre had 10 kills and three service aces for the Lady Rebels.


Koster added 17 digs and two blocks, while Stevens chipped in three set assists.


For Farmington, Macie Sprague led the Lady Farmers with 18 kills for the day. Jessica Prince had 27 assists and Meredith Stufflebeam 19 digs.


Seven players were selected to the all-tournament team.


Those players selected included Burdess, Shaeffer and Baldwin from Lewistown; Locke and Williams from Canton; Williams from North Fulton and Koster from South Fulton.


Following Saturday’s play, Lewistown is now 13-5 on the season. North Fulton is 7-3, followed by Canton (4-11), South Fulton (4-12) and Farmington (3-10).
