State Representative Mike Unes (R-East Peoria) is honored to announce that he is the recipient of the 2018 “Friend of Agriculture” award from the Illinois Farm Bureau (IFB), which was presented to him by the Fulton County Farm Bureau at their recent monthly meeting in Lewistown.

The award is an honor given only to legislators with a proven record of understanding the importance of Illinois Agriculture, the far-reaching benefits of their products, and the essential role farmers play in our State and throughout the world.

Fulton County Farm Bureau President Bill Carlberg says their local industry is thankful for Representative Unes’ support of the farming community.

“Representative Unes has always understood the significance of Agriculture throughout this region, and continues to demonstrate that understanding by the strength of his voting record in Springfield and his positive relationship with the local farm bureaus,” Carlberg emphasized. “He is most certainly a friend of Agriculture in the State of Illinois, and we are proud to personally call him our friend here in Fulton County.”

“Having the opportunity to support our farmers in Springfield is something I’ve always felt uniquely privileged by,” said Unes. “The health of our economy depends on their success, and we should never fail to value and support their strong work ethic, ongoing innovation, and the thousands of jobs they provide for hard-working people all throughout the State of Illinois.”
