Led by individual champion Caelin Foley, Mid-County placed three runners in the top 10 and raced to its second straight Lincoln Trail Conference boys cross country team title at Thursday’s (Oct. 4) meet at Kewanee Dunes Golf Club.

The Cougars finished with 45 team points, followed by Mercer County in second at 65, Princeville 84, Ridgewood 88, Annawan-Wethersfield 97 and Stark County 124.

Foley won the individual title by nearly 30 seconds as he posted a time of 16:14.9, well ahead of runner-up Austin Earley of Annawan-Wethersfield (16:44.5).

Also earning All-LTC honors for Mid-County by placing in the top 10 were Lorin Peterson in sixth at 17:31 and Cal Larson eighth at 17:34.7. Also counting for the Cougars were Will Spence 14th at 18:40.8 and Isaac Robinson 16th at 18:51.6.

Ridgewood’s Jordan Francis earned All-LTC honors with his fourth-place effort in a time of 17:12.3. Also counting for the Spartans were Keagan Hixson 15th at 18:51, Nick Janson 19th at 19:13, Caden Bowers 23rd at 19:42.3 and Lukas Maness 27th at 20:07.8.

In the girls race, Olivia Frail won the individual title and led Stark County to the team crown.

The Lady Rebels finished with 29 points, followed by Annawan-Wethersfield second at 42, Mercer County 70 and Ridgewood 71.

Frail’s winning time was 19:04.9, with Annawan-Wethersfield’s Rachel Gomez runner-up at 19:32.

Ridgewood’s five counters were Lauren Curry 12th at 22:27.3, Lauren Anderson 13th at 23:14.4, Anna Paul 18th at 24:12.2, Jacklyn Bowles 28th at 27:15.4 and Bree Olson 29th at 29:38.

Mid-County had one runner in the race — Abigail Lee in 20th at 24:45.6.
