The Jasper County Soil & Water Conservation District is accepting applications for two scholarships.
The first, a $500.00 scholarship to a Newton Community High School senior planning to enroll in a natural resource/conservation or agriculture related curriculum. The second, a $1000.00 scholarship to a Newton Community High School graduate enrolled as a freshman, sophomore or junior in a school of agriculture. Both scholarships will be based on GPA, participation and need.
Scholarship applications are available at the Jasper Co. SWCD office, the Newton Community High School Guidance office or to receive a fillable application, please e-mail amy.frohning@il.nacdnet.net or brad.tarr@il.nacdnet.net All applications are due by the close of business March 31, 2009 at the Jasper Co. SWCD 1403 Clayton Ave. Newton, IL 62448.
The winners will be announced at the Newton Community High School Awards Night. Payments will be issued once a receipt has been provided showing payment of one of the following items: tuition, books, room and board, etc.
