Jasper County man arrested, charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse

The Jasper County State’s Attorney’s Office announced the arrest on November 14, 2008, of a rural Jasper County man on the charge of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse.

James D. Howard, 18680 N. 1600th Street, Hidalgo, Illinois, is accused of having sexual intercourse with a girl between the ages of thirteen and seventeen years of age sometime during the months of March and April in 2006. The investigation leading to Howard’s arrest was conducted by the Illinois State Police. Mr. Howard remains free on $100,000.00 bond and is scheduled to appear in Jasper County court on December 30, 2008.

The State’s Attorney reminds the public that the charge filed is only an allegation and that Mr. Howard is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
