Jasper County voters showed a 31% appearance at the polls Tuesday in the 2010 General Primary Election. The General Election on November 2nd will see Democrat Dustin Granby (364 votes) facing Republican Clinton Bigard (701 votes). Democratic challenger Connie Griffith received 330 votes and Maria Huddleston received 327 votes. Republican challenger Don Hickox had 284 votes and Susan Iffert Lindley had 282.
In the Jasper County Clerk race, Democrat Linda Griffith Huth received 927 votes and Republican Gordon Yager received 952 votes.
In Jasper County, Democrat Daniel W. Hynes received 600 votes (63.36%) to Pat Quinn's 345 votes. On the Republican ballot, Bill Brady won with 611 votes (50.04%), Adam Andrzejewski received 193, Kirk W. Dillard-158, Jim Ryan-125, Andy McKenna-99, Dan Proft-28 and Rob Schillerstrom-7.
For Lt. Governor, Democratic candidate Scott Lee Cohen won with 223 votes, Mike Boland-177, Arthur L. Turner-122, Thomas Castillo-95, Terry Link-94 and Rickey R. Hendon-77. On the Republican ticket, Jason Plummer won with 566 votes, Don Tracy-154, Matt Murphy-149, Brad Cole-116, Randy A. White, Sr.-73 and Dennis W. Cook-55.
The U.S. Senator race in Jasper County shows Democratic Candidate David Hoffman winning with 277 votes and on the Republican side, candidate Mark Steven Kirk received 391 votes. Other candidates on the Democratic ticket were Alexi Giannoulias-220, Robert Marshall-166, Cheryle Jackson-158 and Jacob J. Meister-28. On the Republican ticket, Patrick J. Hughes-295, Donald Don Lowery-223, Kathleen Thomas-118, Andy Martin-70 and John Arrington-38.
Democrat Lisa Madigan received 880 votes against Republican Steve Kim with 971 votes for Secretary of State.
For Secretary of State, Democrat Jesse White received 905 votes to Republican Robert Enriquez's 952 votes.
Democrat David E. Miller received 657 votes in the race for Comptroller to Judy Baar Topinka's 658 votes. On the Democrat side, Clinton Krislov received 83 and S. Raja Krishna received 75. On the Republican side, William J. Kelly received 290 and Jim Dodge received 191 votes.
For State Treasurer, Jasper County voters gave Democratic candidate Robin Kelly 462 votes to Republican Dan Rutherford's 987 votes.
For the Congressional seat in the 19th District on the Democratic side, Tim Bagwell received 791 votes to Republican John M. Shimkus' 1026 votes. Also on the Republican side, Michael Firsching received 184 votes.
