Ralph E. Davidson age 95 of Newton passed away at 10:26 p.m., Friday, August 20, 2010 at the Newton Rest Haven, Newton, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at the Crain Funeral Home, Newton with Rev. Steve Willis officiating.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., August 23, 2010 at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the West Lawn Cemetery, Newton, Illinois. In loving memory of Ralph, memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Ralph was born October 19, 1914 in Jasper County, Illinois, the son of Walter G. and Linnie (Foltz) Davidson.  Ralph married Ferol Stanley on July 29, 1940 in Henderson, Kentucky.  Together, they had just celebrated their 70 anniversary.  Ralph was a member of Falmouth Chapel Church of Christ.  Ralph was a lifelong farmer who enjoyed raising his grain and livestock.

He leaves his wife Ferol Davidson, of Newton, along with four sons and one daughter.  They are Keith Davidson, Dale Davidson and wife Lynn, and Robert Davidson all of Newton and Danny Davidson and wife Karen of Metamora, Illinois, daughter Marie McCrillis and husband Mack and one sister Opal Bunton of Newton.  Ralph leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren who he dearly loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter-in-law Lorri Davidson, and two grandchildren.
