Kenneth E. Derry, 89, of El Paso and formerly of Macomb and Ipava passed away at 6:25 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at Heritage Manor in El Paso, Ill. He was born on May 26, 1928, in Ipava to parents Leonard and Nellie (Cleer) Derry. He married Doris Lalicker on Aug. 14, 1949 in Ipava. She survives.
Survivors also include sons John (Jane) Derry of Brea, Calif., Mark (Cindy) Derry of Lisle, Ill., and James (Sandy) Derry of Bloomington, Ill.; daughter Joann (Tom) Prunty of Glen Ellyn, Ill., 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Albert Derry.
Kenneth was a payroll clerk and purchasing agent for Peabody Coal, ASARCO coal companies and LTD Industries in Lewistown, Ill. He later worked for Walmart in Macomb, retiring in 1998.
He was a member of Berean Christian Church in Ipava, Maple Avenue Christian Church in Macomb, and Eastview Christian Church in Bloomington.
Services are at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Brad and Brian Prunty will officiate. Visitation is one hour prior to the Saturday service. Interment is at Ipava Cemetery at a later date.
