DWIGHT—Margaret M. Sampson, 103, of Dwight, died Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Heritage Health, Dwight.
Cremation rites were accorded.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 25, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Dwight with the Rev. Chris Haake officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Dwight, following the service.
Margaret was born on June 24, 1914, in Streator, to James and Margaret (Chrismark) Hodgins. She married Robert Sampson on March 14, 1937, in Ottawa. He died in 1986.
Survivors include one daughter, Margaret (Wallace) Pfeifer of Dwight; two sons, Robert (Sue) Sampson of Springfield and Martin (Trish) Sampson of Austin, Texas; seven grandchildren, Margaret Elizabeth (Terry) Riccolo, Ramona (Monte) Jensen and Gregory (Amy) Pfeifer, all of Dwight; Susan (Steve) Stahle of Missouri, Christopher (Renee) Sampson of Washington state, Kathryn (Jim) Roth of Austin, Texas and Megan (Andy) Weitz of London, England; 21 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mary Ann Keating; one brother, James Hodgins; and one son in-law, Raymond Pfeifer.
Mrs. Sampson was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was an avid knitter.
The family suggests memorials be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
