Rosalie Kimler James, 87, of LaHarpe, Ill. passed away at 6:12 a.m., Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb, Ill.. She was born on February 20, 1931 in Blandinsville, Illinois to Leonard and Sylvia Sweasy Kimler. She married Merlin James on August 28, 1949 in Blandinsville.
Rosalie was a member of the Sciota Christian Church and in 1998, transferred her membership to the Blandinsville Christian Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed doing for others. She loved giving hugs to everyone.
Surviving to mourn her passing are, one daughter: Charlotte Nelson (Mike) of Colchester, Ill., two sons: Mike James (Donna) of LaHarpe and Greg James (Anna) of Blandinsville, 10 grandchildren: Amy Chambers (Lance), Derrick James, Nicole Allensworth (Derek), Todd Nelson (Megan), Joanna Johnson (Cory), Craig James, Tim Nelson (Sara), Grant James (Bobi), Luke James (Jena) and Brice James (Jason) and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; one son: Mitchell James, one grandson: Evan James, and one sister: Marjory Kempher.
Visitation will be Monday, July 9, 2018 at the Blandinsville Christian Church from 9  until 11 a.m. followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Gordon Blankenship officiating. Burial will be in the Glade City Cemetery, Blandinsville, Ill.. Memorials may be made to the Blandinsville Fire Department, the Blandinsville Christian Church or to BWP Football (because she loved watching her sons, grandsons and great grandsons play football).
