June 3, 1923 – February 20, 2012

Doris Elizabeth Webster, 88, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 9:34 a.m. on Monday, February 20, 2012, at Heritage Health Center in Pana, Illinois.

Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2012, at Crain Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 12:00 noon at Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Doris was born on June 3, 1923, near Wakefield, Illinois, the daughter of Ernest and Bessie (Gibson) McDonald. She married James DeVaney on June 7, 1949; he preceded her in death in 1958. She married Lowell Webster on June 21, 1993; and he preceded her in death in 2002. Doris worked at the Newton Coin Laundromat and United Technologies for several years, but was a homemaker for much of her life. She enjoyed camping trips, watching movies, and a good cup of coffee. She was an excellent cook and loved to cook for family and friends.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Carol (Phillip) Benefiel of Newton; son, James Thomas (Vickie) DeVaney of Ladson, SC; granddaughter, Courtney (Jared) Kocher of Pana; three great-grandchildren, Christian, Ian and Ella Kocher of Pana; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both her husbands, one brother and two sisters.
