Mary A. Burnell, 93, of Decatur, Illinois  passed away August 27, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur, IL
 
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday September 1, 2010 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park Cemetery- Harristown, IL. In loving memory of Mary, memorials may be made to the Elks Club or American Legion Post 105. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.brintlingerandearl.com
 
Mary was born April 17, 1917 in Newton, IL the daughter of Charles and Anna (McColley) Burton. She was married September 7, 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri to Milo Rue Burnell. Mary loved gardening, yard work, sewing, and traveling. She was a member of Decatur Elks Club, D.A.V. and was a former member of the Moose Lodge.
   
Mary is survived by two daughters, Kay (Joseph) Petrucha of Decatur and Joy (Bill) Burris of Oreana; two sisters, Doris Raabe of Peoria and Avanelle Gosnell of Newton; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Milo Rue Burnell, daughter Judith Ann, five sisters and two brothers.
