Area baseball from Wednesday

    Dee-Mack scored in five of the seven innings it batted in bumping Lexington 14-3 in Heart of Illinois Conference baseball at Keller Park Wednesday.
    The Chiefs tagged LHS hurler Josh Hardman for 10 runs (seven earned) in 3 2-3 innings. Ray McLeese allowed four runs in 2 1-3 innings of relief. Hardman struck out two and walked two while giving up eight hits. McLeese fanned two, walked two and yielded five safeties.
    The Minutemen got on the board with two runs in the fifth inning, and added a tally in the sixth.
    Jonny Olson had two hits while Hardman, Koletin Hippen, McLeese and Blake Harms each singled.
Blue Ridge 14, EPG 8
    EL PASO — Blue Ridge scored at least two runs in an inning five times in a 14-8 win over El Paso-Gridley Wednesday at South Pointe Park.
    The Knights scored four runs in the first inning and added two in the second for a 6-0 lead. The Titans pushed across four runs in the last of the second to stay close.
    But Blue Ridge erupted for three runs in the fourth inning, three in the fifth and two more in the sixth in building a 14-4 lead.
    EPG kept the game going with three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and added a run in the seventh.
    There was a little power surge for the Titans as Nathan Lavender and Drew Edelman both went yard. Lavender's was a two-run shot in the second inning. Edelman's blast was a three-run shot in the sixth inning.
    Lavender added a double and single for three hits on the day. He had two RBIs and scored twice. Drew Edelman had a homer and single with three runs batted in. Kyler Edelman and Kevin Greene each had two hits and an RBI. Zach Johnson singled and drove in a run while Teron Fairchild singled.
    Johnson took the loss after allowing 12 runs (seven earned) on nine hits and four walks. He fanned two. Carson Hoffman allowed two runs on three hits and two walks to go with three punchouts.
