Tigers fall to Orphans 14-13

CENTRALIA - The Olney Tigers fell Monday to Centralia, 14-13 in a tough battle and high scoring game.
The Tigers jumped out to an early lead with three runs on four hits. Trey Puckett, Luke Lambird Gage Miller, and Mason Kocher, hitting singles to start the Tigers spark. Miller, on his single, knocked in the first run for Olney.
Olney kept at Centralia and had an eight run top of the fifth inning,scoring eight runs on four hits, all doubles by Lambird, Miller, Lucas Harmon, and Landon Pride.
Centralia, not to be denied, scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to cut the deficit to 12-7.
The Tigers scored one run in the top of the sixth inning and could not cross the plate in the top of the seventh inning.
Centralia, again battled, scoring seven runs in their final two at-bats, edging Olney 14-13.
Getting the win for Centralia was Whriteneur, who threw just one inning. Reed started on the hill for Centralia. Taking the loss for Olney was Trey Puckett (L,0-1). Pierce Jones started out on the bump for the Tigers, throwing 3IP; 1H; 1R; 0ER; 1K; 2BB; 47 total pitches; 14 BF.

The Olney Tigers fell to 17-9 overall with their next game at 4:30 Wednesday at Charleston.
