Pontiac was able to sweep the doubles matches in capturing the team win over St. Bede in boys’ tennis at the Williamson Field Courts Monday.
The weather was not conducive to tennis, but the Indians managed to take all three doubles matches after winning three singles contests for a 6-3 victory.
Rocco Sartoris, Griffin Brunner and Clay Miller combined for five of the points as each won in singles and doubles play. Sartoris won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1 singles and Brunner was a 6-1,6-0 winner at No. 2.
Sartoris and Brunner combined for a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles.
Miller won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4 singles and teamed with Garrett Brunner for a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles. Marcus Long and Kyle Kuerth won 6-0, 6-4 at No. 3 doubles for the final point.
Winning in junior varsity play were Jesus Calle (8-4), Noah Travis (6-3) and Andrew babb (6-1) in singles play. Pontiac won all three doubles matches as Adam Jacobs and Cameron Kilgore took the No. 1 match 8-6, Aaron Putnam and Griffin Nyi won 8-4 at No. 2 and Chase Broerman and Adam Verdun were 8-2 winners at No. 3.
