Little League from Monday

    Bank of Pontiac scored 11 runs in the first inning and didn't look back in posting a 15-2 win over Country Insurance in Little League play at the Rec-Plex Monday.
    The first six batters reached for Bank of Pontiac, including Colin Kristich, who doubled in a run that made it 3-0. K was part of a run featuring four consecutive singles for BOP later in the inning.
    Kristich, Peyton Von Holten and Aaron Verdun each had two hits in the inning.
    Country got its first run in the second inning only to watch BOP plate four markers in the third. Country added a tally in the fourth inning before the game ended.
    Kristich had three hits, including a pair if doubles, for Bank of Pontiac. He also drove in two runs. Verdun had two hits and three RBIs while Camden Fenton and Kolin Cox each collected two hits and an RBI. Chancey Haase drove in one run.
    Jack Demopoulos had a hit and run batted in for Country Insurance. Santi Pina had a double.
    Fenton struck out eight in three innings for BOP. Hendershott struck out two in his inning on the rubber. Starter Johnny Finnegan struck out one in one inning for Country. Ryson Eilts had six Ks in relief.
Driscoll Motors 3, Route 66 Nutrition 3
    Driscoll Motors and Route 66 Nutrition played to a 3-3 tie in the other early Little League contest. Each side had three runs on four hits through six innings.
    Driscoll did all its scoring in the second inning. Brody Karr drew a bases-loaded walk to force in the first run and Zack Legner singled past shortstop to make it 2-0. Another bases-loaded walk, this time to Liam Reilly, forced in the third run of the inning.
    Route 66 came back with single tallies in the third, fourth and fifth innings. Justin Tovrea doubled home Nolan Mennenga for the first Route 66 tally. Zechariah Landstrom scored on an Aiden Wink base hit in the fourth, and Cayden Masching stole home in the fifth to tie it up.
    Parker Brock had two hits to lead the Driscoll offense. Henry DeYoung doubled and Legner singled and drove in a run. Karr and Reilly also each grabbed an RBI.
    Tovrea had a double, single and RBI for Route 66 Nutrition. Wink had a hit and RBI and Masching had a base hit.
    DeYoung started on the bump for Driscoll. He struck out four in his three innings. Brock fanned six in his three innings.
    Landstrom set down eight on strikes for Route 66. Masching fanned three and Tovrea had two punchouts.
