Everett Bradham continues to claim the crown in the B-Mod division at Charleston Speedway. Olney, Illinois driver, Bradham, has picked up his fourth feature win in five tries at the Charleston Speedway with a dominating flag-to-flag feature win. Scott Dunlap set quick time during the nights opening qualifying session, clocking in at 14.29 for his fastest lap. Adam Scherer placed second, Gordon Parsons Jr. was third, Bradham fourth, and Zack Brandenburg was the fifth fastest car in qualifying. The 16 cars in the B-Mod division were then sorted into two heat races. In the first of the two heat races, Gordon Parsons Jr. was able to get the jump on Scott Dunlap and hold off the faster Dunlap and Jordan Smith for the heat race victory. Parsons was able to pick up his first heat race win on the season with the ability to hold off Dunlap who could not quite get the pass completed. Parsons, Dunlap, and Smith finished top three in the first heat race. In the second heat race, Adam Scherer and Everett Bradham pulled away from the field. Bradham won the race to the first corner, and that allowed him to have the ideal line, around the top of the race track. Bradham would build a several car length lead over Scherer during the race. Adam Scherer would run down Bradham, trimming the gap to about two car lengths. Bradham would hold off the late Scherer charge and claim the heat race victory. Bradham would dominate the feature with a flag-to-flag lead after the Olney driver quickly outpaced Parsons on the first lap. Scherer would power past Parsons and Dunlap would follow suit. The trio of cars at the top of the field would continue to create a gap as Parsons was holding JR Wiltermood and Jordan Smith up, as neither driver could pass despite being the faster cars. Six cars were trying to work around Parsons for fourth, but the high line held just too much momentum for anyone to make a pass stick. While the seven car battle was heating up, Bradham held Scherer and Dunlap at bay as the 37 Impressive Racecar was gliding around the top of the race track. Bradham held the lead as neither Scherer nor Dunlap could make anything happen to challenge for the top spot. Everett Bradham would pick up the win, his fourth at the speedway, leading every lap of the feature event. In the UMP Modifieds, 28 cars would enter the race track after several area tracks were unable to race due to rain. Charleston’s own Kasey Schrock piloted his 83 machine to the fastest lap tim eduring qualifications, turning a time of 13.79. Schrock was nearly two tenths of a second faster than second place. Michael Bolyard qualifed second, Gabe Menser third, Ryan Buckler was fourth, and Rodney Standerfer stood in fifth. The 28 cars were split into three heat races. Ten cars in the first heat and nine in the second and third. Six cars would make the Feature without having to run a consiltion race. In the first heat, Schrock defended his quick time by controling the field with a heat race victory over Ryan Buckler and RJ Pruitt. In the secon heat, defending track champion Rodney Standerfer picked up a heat race win over Michael Bolyard and Danny Schwartz. Olney, Illinois driver Justin Jones moved up past two cars from his seventh starting position to secure a spot in the A-Main. Clay City native Larry Anderson would won the third and final heat race over Gabe Menser, and Kyle Steffens. The feature field was set with 18 cars, leaving ten to compete in the B-Main for two open starting positions. Mattoon, Illinois drive Cole Hussong picked up the win in the heat race to advance into the main event. Josh McDaniel took advantage of Tanner Reed jumping over the cushion, to slide past Reed for the second and final transfer spot. The twenty car field was set to run for 25 laps in the A-Main. Kasey Schrock, looking for his first win at Charleston Speedway on the year, was able to claim the lead off the start. Rodney Standerfer would fall in line behind Schrock as the duo would power around the top of the race track. Terre Haute, Indiana driver RJ Pruitt began to chip away at the advantage that the top two drivers. Several cautions would bunch the field up in the early going, and Pruitt was attempting moves to pass into the top pair of spots, but no pass could be completed. Meanwhile, Danny Schwartz, a track favorite, was blistering through the pack. With a handful of laps remaining, Schwartz passed Schrock to claim the lead. Schwartz would pull away over the last few laps to claim his first feature win of the year at the Charleston Speedway. Schrock was second, Rodney Standerfer finished third.
