Area golf from Wednesday
Dani Grace Schrock and Ali Schrock came in with the two lowest scores but Pontiac’s dynamic duo weren’t enough to lift the Indians past U-High or Central Catholic in a girls’ golf triangular match Wednesday at the Elks Club Golf Course.
Dani Grace Schrock shot a 38 and Ali Schrock finished at 39 for the Tribe. But the next scorer was Taylor Parsons at 61 and then the trio of Rylee Zimmerman, Aliya Leonard and Macey Rice each shot 68. Claire Nyi had a 70.
All told, the Indians finished at 206, well behind U-High (168) and BCC (182). Lexi Onsrud and Jadyn Spikes each carded a 41 to lead the Pioneers. Katie Steinman and Kylie Hundman each had 44 for the Saints.
Connor Birky was on par as he led Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley to a boys’ golf triangular win over Ridgeview and LeRoy. Birky shot 36 as GCMS tallied 174. LeRoy was next at 210 and the Mustangs finished at 240.
Matt Hunt (45), Bryce Boundy (46) and Braden Rousch (47) were next for the Falcons.
Allan Kindred led Ridgeview with a 43 and Justice Boyd shot a 49. Jace Ballenger came in at 66 while Katelin Donaldson (82) and Morgan Donaldson (89) also played.
