Pontiac JFL results

    Pontiac’s Pee Wee Chiefs opened with a victory while the Squirts, Varsity and Senior Varsity fell short in their respective openers to the Junior Football league season last weekend.
    The PEE WEE Chiefs had four runners gain more than 25 yards in a 12-7 win over Olympia. The offense collected 239 rushing yards.
    Logan Henry led the offense with 94 yards and Kito Betts contributed 50 yards and a touchdown. Zarkias Schahrer added 47 yards and Aiden Alcorn had 28 rushing yards.
    Ben Melchers led the defense with six tackles and two forced fumbles. Schahrer had an interception. Henry also had six tackles while Alcorn was in on five stops.
    Pontiac will take on East Peoria this weekend.
    The SQUIRTS took a 39-12 loss at the hands of Olympia.
    Olympia outscored the Chiefs 13-6 in each of the first two periods, and added 13 points in the final frame.
    Aiden Prendergast got the Squirts on the board in the first quarter. He had 25 yards on offense and made four tackles on defense. Koletin Schilling ran for 55 yards and a touchdown. Antonio Guzman had 47 total yards.
    The VARSITY Chiefs dropped a 26-13 decision to Lincoln. Nicholas Crane and Hunter Melvin scored touchdowns for Pontiac.
    Melvin led the offense with 88 rushing yards and 6 receiving yards. Kaleb Kennedy contributed 78 rushing yards and 15 return yards. He also made eight tackles.
    Riley Johnson was in on seven stops while Marcus Martinez and Melvin each had four stops. Carlito Lattin intercepted a pass.
    The SENIOR VARSITY Chiefs scored a third-quarter touchdown and shut out Dee-Mack in the second half. But the damage had already been done as Dee-Mack won 26-7.
    Devonte Chambers led the offense with 42 yards and Raul Martinez added 23 yards. Pontiac had 74 rushing yards and Masen Persico had a completion to Adam Ahrends for 12 yards.
    Dalton Tovrea led the defense with seven tackles. Aundre Hendershott, Ethan Isenberg and Tyson Cramer each had three stops.
