Prep volleyball from Tuesday
Prairie Central jumped on Pontiac early in the varsity match and tallied a two-set victory in an Illini Prairie Conference volleyball match Tuesday at PCHS.
The win kept the PC program from being swept on the night.
Natalie Graf and Amber Graf each had 7 kills as the Hawks (16-7, 3-1) posted a 25-14, 25-20 victory. Merryn Krenz had 18 assists and Amber Graf served up 14 points.
Amber Graf also had 13 digs on defense while Lindsey Hari and Elly Haberkorn each chalked up 2 blocks.
Cam Feddern had 3 kills for the Indians (9-12, 0-4). Maddi Stark collected 6 assists. Cassidy Ringle came up with 8 digs and Lindsey Hunt had 1½ blocks.
Pontiac won the sophomore match 25-14, 21-25, 16-14 as Alyssa Fox had 15 service points. Molly Masching had 10 service points as the PTHS freshmen won 25-17, 25-18.
FLANAGAN — Kayla Van Weelden had another good night at the net as she led Flanagan-Cornell to a 25-22, 25-22 Heart of Illinois Conference win over Ridgeview.
Van Weelden had 7 kills and 2 blocks for the Falcons (16-9-1, 5-4). Regan Reed added 5 kills while Rachel Harrison and McKenna Roth each delivered 4 kills. Madelyn Forney had 16 assists.
Harrison and Molly Garretson each had 7 digs on defense. Reed came up with 6 and Forney had 5 digs.
Mya Tinsley led Ridgeview (9-16, 3-6) with 7 kills and Kelly Jones added 6 kills. Izzy Helmig made 15 assists.
Ridgeview won the frosh-soph match 18-25, 25-23, 15-12.
MINONK — Emma Petersen and Lexi Jochums led Fieldcrest to a 25-9, 25-21 nonconference win over Dwight.
Petersen made 11 kills and Jochums had 12 assists for the Knights (15-7). Jochums also had 6 digs.
Kayla Kodat had 4 kills for the Trojans. Emily Weissmann had 3 assists and Jordan Schultz came up with 6 digs.
Fieldcrest took the preliminary match 25-23, 25-19.
LEXINGTON — Jayden Standish had a double double of sorts in leading Lexington to a 25-17, 25-22 HOIC win over Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley at The Fort.
Standish collected 10 kills on offense and 11 digs on defense. Also recording double figures were Gracy Michel with 12 assists and Tia Hardt with 11 digs.
Raylee Sharrow had 8 assists and Megan Kelley served up 7 points for the Minutemen (7-11, 5-4).
