Nick's Race a Success

Despite hot and humid conditions last Saturday, 77 female and 85 male runners competed for the 8th annual Nick's Race at Sam Parr State Park.  The course of 2.85 miles, used by the NCHS cross country team, saw competitors from 7 to 72 covering the scenic terrain.

Carly Niebrugge was the overall female winner as the 15 year old won in 19:19.90 min.  The top three female finishers in age 14 and under were Maddie Green - 21:17.10 min., Michaela Green - 28:31.00 and Halley Powers - 29:36.20

Female 15 to 19 top three were:  Leeann Michl - 20:03.70, Morgan Swingler - 20:40.95 and Joni Hahn - 21:09.56.

Female 20 to 29 top three were:  Erin Rauch - 23:04.80, Alyssa Gordon - 26:11.00 and Katie Farley - 26:37.60.

Female 30 to 39 top three were:  Kim Wiley - 19:37.00, Nichole Mulvey - 24:30.55 and Holly Farley - 24:34.95.

Female 40 to 49 top three were:  Jana Ackman - 22:46.65, Linda Tharp - 24:12.50 and Mary Frohning - 29:07.30.

Female 50 to 59 had Kelly Fleeharty -Gorrell tops in 23:59.20.

Graham Morris, age 19, won the overall male title in 14:54.75.

The top three male 14 and under runners were:  Kyle Woods - 20:50.35, Henry Treadway - 20:52.95, and Jordan Hemrich - 24:39.15.

The top three male 15 to 19 runners were:  Evan White _ 15:42.30, Aaron Miller - 16:38.90, and Jackson Shedelbower - 16:46.15.

The top three male 20 to 29 runners were:  Corey Hahn - 16:12.45, Cody Yager - 17:40.20 and Brock Tarr - 17:50.50.

The top three male 30 to 39 runners were:  Richard Sutfin - 17:55.45, David Weber - 18:25.30 and Travis Tarr - 18:30.65.

The top three male 40 to 49 runners were:  Brian Lange - 20:54.20, David Joens - 22:40.30, and Scott Ackman - 22:46.45.

The top three male 50 to 59 runners were:  Terry Bierman - 21:05.65, Leroy Schackmann - 22:02.45, and Tim Shedelbower - 22:59.70.

The top three male 60 and over runners were:  Roger Kinder - 21:20.45, Charlie Schackmann - 25:21.50 and Bob Callaway - 27:44.30.

Also many contributed to the cause by taking part in the non-competitive walk of two miles.
