Nita Lynn Zitzmann born April 26, 1945 in Storm Lake, IA, died Thursday July 14 peacefully at her home in Marietta, Georgia.
Lynn moved to Newton in August of 1981 with her husband Gary, whom she was married to for 35 years, to raise her 3 daughters. She was full of life and laughter. Lynn was a member of the women's bowling league and looked forward to every Friday night. Lynn worked at Douthit drug store, Napa auto parts store, the Dollar Store, and finally the local 76 gas station, where she was a manager the last 9 years before she moved to Marietta, Georgia. Lynn came back every year to visit her children and her sister and considered Newton her home and it was her wish to be buried back home.
Lynn is survived by her husband Gary, daughters Lolaine and Buddy Batrail of Springfield, MO ; Sondra (nee Culver) and Britt Mcclain of Bowling Green, MO, Heather (nee Culver) and Joe Carey of Newton , Alison (nee Culver) and Clay Kresno of Plainfield, IL . Grandchilden, John, Kyle (Rachel), Christopher, Brittney (Kyle), Cody, Caitlin, Megan, Nathan, Abigail, and Olivia. Great- Grandchildren, Amelia and Scarlet. Siblings Jim (Sid) Barber of Alta, IA, Diane (the late Don) Sliefert of Alta, IA and Sue Koehler of Newton, IL. And many nieces and nephews.
She is proceeded in death by her Mother Alice Barber, Siblings Saundra, Jack, Billy, and Doug Barber, Marlene O'Dell, and Judy Tobin.
Memorial services are Saturday July 23 and will be held at Central Christian Church in Newton. The Visitation is from 10-11 and service will be at 11.
