Virginia A. Japson, 73, of Willow Hill, Illinois, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018 at her home.

Funeral services will at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at the Crain Funeral Home, Newton with Pastor Chuck Cunningham officiating. Visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mound Cemetery. Virginia was born on February 12, 1945 in Sturgis, Kentucky the daughter of Irmel Eugene and Betty McKee. On August 25, 1978, Virginia married Honorato “Nory” Japson. For many years, Virginia worked for the Navy Exchange and the Defense Commissary in Virginia Beach, Virginia. After their retirement in 2006, Virginia and Nory returned to Willow Hill.

Virginia was an active member of the Willow Hill United Methodist Church and the Robinson Lions Club. Having a love of Gospel and Country music, Virginia sang with the Hunt City Little Opry Musicians. She enjoyed singing with the group when they performed at local nursing homes and assisted living centers. She loved to dance and sing at the music nights in Ste. Marie and Newton. In her spare time, Virginia enjoyed bowling, baseball, crabbing and fishing in the ocean. She liked to quilt, craft, read and play card games. Having her own tool collection, Virginia liked to tackle home improvement projects and built many pieces of furniture for their home.

Virginia will be loved and remembered by her husband, Honorato “Nory” Jaspson of Willow Hill; children Calvin of Kankakee, Juana of Virginia Beach, VA, Lisa and Ragen of Lakewood, CO, Allan of Metamora, Melissa and Darrell of Norfolk, VA, and Ginory and Marcus of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Fletcher, Alfred Jr., Shalyn, Brittney, Aaron, Faith, Brianna Marcus Jr., Nina; great-grandchildren, Grayson, Sebastian, Izak, Lilith, Sophia, and Arthur; brothers, Henry (significant other Freda Willard) McKee of Oblong, Harold (Carla) McKee of Robinson, Mike (Theresa) McKee and Gary (Susan) McKee, both of Newton; sisters, Jeannie Garber of Willow Hill and Angie (Randy) Shelly of Newton; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
