Rose Marie Utley Wallace, 78, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 7:15 a.m., Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at Aperion Care in Olney, Illinois.
Funeral services celebrating Rose’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m.,Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at the Potter’s House Ministry in Newton, Illinois, with Ron Mulvey officiating. Burial will be in the Block Cemetery in rural Greenup, Illinois. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, June 4, 2018, at the church. In loving memory of Rose, memorials may be made to The Potter’s House Ministry. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois. Rose was born on November 3, 1939, in Robinson, Illinois, the daughter of Charles Eugene and Ruth Geraldine (Christine) Utley. Rose worked at ER Moore in Newton, Illinois for 15 years and retired after working several years at Roadmaster in Olney, Illinois. She was a member of Potter’s House Ministry. Rose loved to read, cook and spend time with her family and friends.
Rose is survived by three sons, Steve (Dawn) Wilson of Ingraham, Wayne (Dicie) Wilson of Neoga and Rodney Wilson of Sumner; daughter, Anita (Charlie) Cooper of Bridgeport; sister, Ruth Ann (Chuck) Bergbower of Newton; two brothers, Bill Utley of Newton and Charles (Sue) Utley, Jr. of Flat Rock; eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Karen Sue Russell, grandsons Brandon Cooper and Rodney Wilson, Jr. and a sister Lillie Shook.
