MACOMB — A Henderson County woman has been charged with methamphetamine possession after she was spotted in a car that led police on a high-speed chase across two counties Saturday afternoon.
Christine M. Doan, 26, of Oquawka, Ill., was found and apprehended at 7:45 p.m.  traveling in another vehicle in Canton. McDonough County Sheriffs Deputies charged her with possession of less than 5 grams of meth and drug paraphernalia.
The car chase began in southern Henderson County. At approximately 1:27 p.m., McDonough County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to assist with the pursuit as the chase entered McDonough County. The car eluded deputies and the pursuit was terminated.
Deputies then located the vehicle in Walnut Grove, and the car fled the area. Soon after, deputies stopped another vehicle belonging to 29-year-old Pepsi D. Smith of Galesburg, and found Doan in the passenger’s seat. Doan admitted she was also a passenger in the vehicle that had alluded deputies during the two-county car chase earlier in the day. That was when she was found in possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.
Bushnell Police also assisted with the investigation and the arrest.
Doan was taken to the McDonough County Jail.  She posted $500 bond and was released on Sunday.
McDonough County Sheriff Nick Petitgout said he does not know how fast the car was going, but deputies now know the driver who lead officials on the high-speed chase.
“There are more arrests to follow,” Petitgout said. “They have to get the driver.”
More charges are pending as the investigation continues.
