Delmar R. Radke, 84, of Springfield, died at 5:58 p.m. on Tuesday, December 25, 2018, at Concordia Village, surrounded by his family.

Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.

Memorial Gathering and Funeral Mass: Family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Christ the King Parish, 1930 Barberry, Springfield.

A Funeral Mass will follow at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Joseph G. Ring, celebrant. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honors provided by Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Parish, 1930 Barberry, Springfield, IL 62704 or St. Martin de Porres, P.O. Box 2571, Springfield, IL 62708-2571. Delmar was born on May 14, 1934, at home in Jasper County, IL, the son of Edwin and Monica Ritz Radke. He married Theresa L. Helregel on May 3, 1958, in St. Marie, IL. Delmar proudly served his country in the U.S. Army paratroopers and was employed in the business office machine repair industry for many years. He was a member of Christ the King Parish, where he volunteered often and the Knights of Columbus #364. Delmar was a great golfer, could fix anything, enjoyed vegetable gardening, traveling (having visited all 50 states) and was an avid U of I Basketball and Football fan, as well as a St. Louis Cardinals fan.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Theresa Radke of Springfield; daughter, Maribeth (Peter) Selinski of Springfield; son, Bruce (Kim) Radke of Glen Ellyn; grandchildren, Brock, Sophie, and Audrey Radke; brothers, Maurice (Vanna) Radke of MO and Kenneth (Charlene) Radke of OH; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Geneva Dhom; and two brothers, Maynard and Lorraine “Bud” Radke.
