The Newton Community High School Class of 1954 held their 65th reunion on August 17 at Parklanes in Newton and class members agreed to holding another gathering five years from now.
Following the 5:30 p.m. social, Paul Cummins offered the invocation, asking us to remember our deceased classmates. A delicious meal was served at 6:30.
Norbert Lustig was Master of Ceremonies with Agnes Hippler Bond conducting the business meeting. She reported since the 62-year reunion in 2016, six classmates have passed away, namely: Joann Hemrich Ginder, Patricia Bailey Miller, Marilyn Dhom Zumbahlen, Charles McComas, James Ward and Howard Tarr.
