After a valiant battle of two years with cancer our beloved “Viking Warrior” as his girlfriend likes to call him, may finally rest his sword. Douglas Edward “Wally” Thompson b. August 18th 1968 passed away peacefully on June 29th at 10 a.m. at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Loyal Wayne and Mary Cooper, his grandfather Robert Thompson and a Sister-in-Law Amy Groff.
He is survived by Gary (Mary) Thompson of Macomb and Diana Franklin of Queen City, Mo. He is also survived by two brothers, Chris (Teresa) Thompson of Queen City, MO and Chip Groff of Macomb. His surviving sister, Sara Thompson also lives in Missouri, in Lancaster. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as aunts and uncles. Last but certainly not least, he is survived by his loving girlfriend, Michelle Wardlow, of Macomb.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A celebration of life will be held July 22nd at the Walnut Grove Methodist church. Times to be announced.
Memorials may be made to the family which will cover final expenses.
