Sharon K. Walter, 75, of Prairie City, Ill. passed away at 9:45 p.m. on July 8, 2018 at Heartland Health Care in Galesburg, Ill.. She was born January 10, 1943 in Warren County, Ill. to Aquilla and Kathryn (Moore) Foust. She married Jerry Walter on December 9, 1962 in Roseville, Ill.; he survives.
Also surviving are her children, Kevin Walter of Prairie City, Ill., Kim (John Douglas) Walter of Bushnell, Ill., Kyle Walter of Bushnell, Ill.; three sisters, Beverly Jean (Don) Waller of Macomb, Ill., Donna Stopplewerth of Colchester, Ill., and Kathy Foust of Colchester, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Jacob Walter; two brothers; and one half-sister.
One of Sharon’s favorite hobbies was tending to her flower garden and she loved watching the hummingbirds. She also enjoyed operating a Ham Radio, with her call sign being N9TGA. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Wednesday Hit and Miss Bowling League, Friendly Neighbors Club, and Bushnell United Methodist Church. She ran the nursery in the church for many years, was in the United Methodist Women’s Circle, and the church choir. 
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday July 12, 2018 at the Bushnell United Methodist Church. Pastor Amy Holman will officiate. Interment will be in the Bushnell Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday July 11, 2018 at the Martin-Hollis Funeral Home.
