Charles J. Perkins, 85, of Chenoa, died at 5 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community, Chenoa.
Per Chuck's request, cremation rites have been accorded. There will be a celebration of life service at a later date. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa, has charge of arrangements.
Charles was born Feb. 17, 1933, in Chatsworth, a son of James R. and Annis (Harlan) Perkins. He married Marlene Henline on Oct. 27, 1951, in Chenoa. She survives in Meadows.
Other survivors include one daughter, Patricia (Kevin) Coomes of Long Prairie, Minn.; one son, Timothy (Colleen) Perkins of Hohenwald, Tenn.; two granddaughters; two grandsons; four great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild on the way; one sister, Marlene Thompson of California; and one brother, Donald (Pat) Perkins of Fairbury.
His parents; one brother, Kenneth Perkins; and one sister, LouElla Mounce, preceded him in death.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Central Illinois Small Animal Rescue and Care Center, Colfax.
