Terry Lee Pickett, 74, of Chenoa, passed away at 12:11 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2018, at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa. At the family's request, casual attire is suggested. Cremation rites will be accorded and a celebration of Terry's life will follow at a later date.
Mr. Pickett was born Feb. 15, 1944, in Chenoa, a son of Clifford P. and Zazel Belle Ross Pickett. He married Nancy Grider on Aug. 7, 1964, in Chenoa. She survives in Chenoa.
Also surviving are two sons, Robert (Beverly) Pickett of Chenoa and John (Angie) Pickett of Pontiac; eight grandchildren, Abbie Mullins, Joseph Kauffman, Jordan Pickett, Nicholas Kauffman, Haley Pickett, Liam Pickett, Keely Pickett, Brynn Pickett; two brothers, Kenneth (Ellen) Pickett of Bloomington and Paul (Barb) Pickett of Winter Haven, Fla.; and one sister, Pat (Darrel) Shoop of Pontiac.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Betty Smith.
Terry was a 1962 graduate of Chenoa High School and was a service technician for GTE and Verizon for 34 years in the Pontiac area. He was a very hard working guy who never knew a stranger and was liked by everyone.
Terry always found time for a round of golf with his friends. He loved his family and friends who will miss him deeply.
