Pontiac track from Monday
Pontiac recorded 29 season-best efforts and won four events in placing second as a team at the Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Invitational Monday evening.
The Indians also won the girls' portion of the meet but no results were provided.
As for the guys, the Tribe won two events in the field and two on the track. Cam Dawson cleared 6 feet, 2 inches to win the high jump. Steven Lewis had a toss of 133-11 to take the discus.
Noah Parra won the 1,600-meter run in 5 minutes, 16.3 seconds. The 4x400 relay team of Ethan Lee, Ethan Schickel, Angelo Borrego and Colton Clesson won in a season-best 3:35.31.
There were 10 events that scored runnerup points, many with season-best marks. Clesson went 19-6¼ in the long jump and Donovan Murphy had a mark of 39-10 in the triple jump in PR performances. Lewis was second in the shot put at 41-2½ and Brayden Weaver was second in the discus at 123-5½. Austin Norman went 11-6 in the pole vault.
On the track, Paul Giordano was second in the 1,600 at a PR 5:21.65. Norman was runnerup in the 200 at 24.69 seconds.
The remaining three relays each took second with PR marks. The 4x800 quartet of Borrego, Schickel, Seth Corrigan and Parra was clocked at 8:42.13. The 4x100 team of Lee,norman, Cobi Parra and Clesson finished in 44.7 seconds and the 4x200 foursome of Lee, Norman, Borrego and Clesson crossed at 1:35.31.
